Smoker limit

Cons: Temperature never gets above 150

This smoker never gets meat above about 155 F. in over 4 hours. The USDA required temperature for chicken is 165 F so the smoker cannot do much cooking. I put the meat into the cooker for about 2-3 hours, and then place it in on oven for a few more hours to get properly cooked. It has a slight cooked taste. I wold never eat meat directly from this smoker.   Someday when I have time, I plan to replace the temperature controls and expect better performance.   I suggest that if you are in the market for a smoker, you look elsewhere.

A great little smoker and perfect size for 2 people with occasional guests

Pros: Compact (doesn't take up much room in the garage), solid and well-built, easy to use and clean

Cons: I would have liked a digital temperature control with internal temp readout

I purchased this smoker this past spring (2016) and have used it numerous times to smoke ribs, roasts, chicken, and recently jalapeƱo peppers (the chipotles turned out beatifully after about 20 hours of low heat and low smoke!) This was my first foray into smoking (other then the limited smoking I could accomplish on my Weber grill -- which allowed me to make some superb bacon). I took several months to research all of the models and talk to folks who use them. This forum was a spectacular place to come for information. This fall I'll be trying my first bacon in this smoker, and I purchased the accessories to make jerky and smoke cheese, too. I'm very happy with my purchase and could...

a Great Little Smoker

Pros: Stainless steel, built like a tank, great temp control, easy to use

Cons: Shoulda bought the bigger one

I love this little smoker, it is great for smokin jobs for small parties and the family.  My meat comes out with a nice crust, nicely smoked.  I have put chicken, pork butt, sausages, jalapeno poppers, brisket and of course ribs.  This little smoker just churns them out with perfection.  The one down side is that I have to split my racks of ribs in two as it will not hold a full rack on the grate.  So I should have bought a bigger one but for the family it is the perfect size.

Excellant first smoker

Pros: cooks with chunks

Cons: can run approx. 20 degrees warmer than dial says, but this is most electric smoker

Stupid proof smoker. Excellant smoker at a cheaper price than the Cookshack/Smokin Tex.

Smokin' It Model #1

Pros: well insulated, easy to clean and move, plenty of heat, holds temp

This was a great first-time smoker purchase. It's easy to use, moves well on its wheels, and seems to hold a strong temperature. Even in the cold in DC, this thing cranked out fantastic stuff. Get one and enjoy it!

Best smoker I've had

Pros: well built, easy to operate and clean, replaceable parts are easy to get (usually not needed), great company to work with

Cons: absolutely none

This is one very nice smoker! It is by far the best built smoker that I have owned and I've owned several ranging from charcoal to digital electric. It is very modestly priced and produces great smoked food. I guarantee you will be satisfied with any of the Smokin-It smokers.(there are 3 models) You are purchasing from a small company that is willing to provide any attention needed to provide customer support.

Quality Electric Smoker

Pros: All Stainless Steel no door gasket

Cons: runs hotter than setting on dial

This smoker is built like a tank!!! There is no door gasket to wear out and parts are readily available through the manufacturers website. I have noticed it runs hotter than where I set the temp so I always set it lower and have the remote thermometer in so I can monitor the temp not a real issue for me. Large enough to do a 12 lbs turkey but I kind of wish I had bought the larger model. They will be coming out with a model 3 soon and I may just have to save some cash and order me that one too and bring the model 1 to the lake place.   Update....This little smoker continues to turn out some of the best smoked foods. I get raves about my ribs, chicken, salmon & shrimp. I...

Great electric smoker!

Pros: simple, replaceable parts, sturdy, only 350w, not too expensive

Cons: small, mail order, not cheap

I just got one of these for Xmas and it's GREAT!  It is pretty small, but it's very solid and heavy and you can still put a surprising amount of meat in it.  Since it is well insulated the element doesn't need to be that powerful.  If you get one of them standing rib racks you can cook 6 feet of big baby back ribs and still have the top shelf open for the beef.   Here's why I got this one: Simple - very few moving parts to break. Easily replaceable parts, including the heating element. Mom & Pop company in Ohio.  Made in China, but that's hard to avoid these days. Very solid contruction &...
