SMOKE CANYON (HORIZONTAL WOOD/CHARCOAL)

This is the first horizontal smoker that I have used and for cost quality and size, I could not have been more pleased.... Wonderful fun using this unit..

I truly like this pit. I've cooked briskets to lobster over the firebox. I've learned to get around the gaps. I probably use more fuel than I have to so the heat can be controlled.

I have found a fix in the forum of using silicone gasket for a better seal. I put in on today and looking

forward to smokin' something this weekend.

Overall, I'd still buy this pit.

WHEN I SMOKE I GO BIG.IN THE PAST I HAD 3 VERTICALS GOING.DID MY HOMEWORK AND SHOPPED AROUND. FOUND THIS BY CHANCE AT BASSPRO. IFOUND SIMILLIAR MODELS ON LINE FOR ALLMOST TWICE THE COST. I LOVE  THIS SMOKER. QUALITY IS EXCELLENT.THICKER STEEL HOLDS TEMPS, AND NO GAP ISSUES. ONE UPGRADE DID FOR CHICAGO TEMPS OUTSIDE I ADDED CERAMIC BRIQUETTS ON BOTTOM FOR BETTER HEAT DISTRIBUTION IN MAIN CHAMBER.

I had been wanting to step up my smoking game.  I used to just have a Brinkman grill and I would have the heat on one side and the meat on the other side.  It really cut down my cooking area and I found it hard to maintain a constant heat for more than 4 hours.  I was all ready to buy the Brinkman SNP for $189, when I came across the deluxe brinkman smoker for $299. 

One day in a Home Depot that I usually do not frequent I went down the grill isle and I saw the SNP and the deluxe SNP, but I also saw something called "Smoke Canyon Farmers Grill" originally for $499 down to $373.  After seeing what is looked like out of the box I was hooked  and I proceeded to to stock this smoker.  I searched on-line everywhere.

Two weeks passed until I went to go buy it.  I walked down the isle all confident and almost passed out when I saw that they lowered the price 100 dollars to $273.

I plan to cure it this Friday and cook me a rack on Saturday.  Wish me luck!
