Pros: inexpensive

Cons: sealing unit and mods needed

after my seasoning run and 1st smoking session, I had to alter the unit..closed firebox to chamber up some and added a 3/16 plate deflector on top of it so heat and smoke ran more directly into chamber....in the chamber added steel sheet that runs under the smoking racks tight from firebox side and  which has an open area on left side to come back across...welded original stack hole closed and relocated to right side of chamber just behind firebox at rack level. added 2 new thermometers  to door so they were at rack level at each end and 2 propane turkey fryer burners with 2 regulators on a single supply hose..there is a grate above the burners which now supports custom 4 inch round steel  wood/chip tubes that i can remove and reload..each lasts about an hour to 2 hrs or so unless i load both and one away from heat...the burners both lit will get to 220 degrees in 10 minutes...shut one off and turn down second to about 1/4 throttle will maintain temp....ash clean up is removing the 4 inch tube..dumping and reloading when other one depletes
