Pros: it works enough to get my smoker box hot enough to burn my wood

Cons: lots of ash, tons of filler, odd taste

I really am not a fan of this charcoal. as soon as my last bag is used, i will be going back to lump

Pros: Sam's always has a twin bag set in stock

Cons: Briquets seem lighter and don't burn as long as a Royal Oak. Loads of fly ash.

This was my Dad's go to for charcoal, cause ol'Dizzie recommended it. AND I heard the tale of Henry Ford every time a bag was poured. I didn't know there was anyother brand for years and years. Then they came out with that Mesquite impregnated coal, I started looking and decided for ease of convienence to use Royal Oak. I admitt at the time I had no idea again there was others available. Then they came out with the new and improved briquet again, the ones with the cross on the briquet. That completely ended my use of Kingsford. Fast burn, ash flying all over the pit, really ruins a good cookin.   Totally unimpressed now.

As a last resort

Pros: Cheap, widely avaialable

Cons: briquettes with mystery filler, too much ash, odd taste

As a last resort I will use Kingsford Blue bag for smoking or grilling.  I dont like all the ask it generates, the taste it gives off, or the mystery fillers they use to form the briquettes.  I prefer lump hands down.

I'll not use it again

Pros: Good heat

Cons: Nasty gray black ash, too many fillers and coal, not enough hardwood char

Produces too much ash to use in the SFB, I can buy other charcoal briquettes at a better price that will do just what I want a briquette to do ( I use them for grilling). K has no value to me.
