Char-Broil The Big Easy Oil-Less Infrared Turkey Fryer Reviews

Hot and juicy `

Pros: Safe and easy to use.

Cons: Limited volume for large gatherings

If all it did was turkey, I wouln't have bothered.  But I have done turkey, chickens, burgers, salmon, chops, pork tenderloin, beef tenderloin, shish name it.  The food comes out nice and crisp on the outside, tender and juicy on the inside.  Safe and easy to use, no worries about boil over or spilling hot oil and burning the place down.  It's a must have for your outdoor cooking arsenal.

Negative Reviews

cooks well, poorly constructed, poor warranty

Pros: cooks well

Cons: basket is chrome, not stainless. will likely rust quickly, customer service-warranty suck

I got this as a gift, which voids the warranty on all Char-Broil products.   It works fine except the electric ignitor does not work.   cheaply made, I do not expect it to last long   Does do a good job of cooking. good concept, poorly executed.   I will never buy another Char-Broil product since their customer service policies suck.

Works for Me

Pros: Ease of Use, consistent results, catches drippings for gravy

Cons: None

We don't use it often, but when we do, it works great. I've done three Thanksgiving turkeys and two beef rib roasts. All turned out execellent. As with any cooking, the idea is to monitor the temperature. The outside was crisp, with a nice spice crust on the beef roasts. Inside was moist. We pulled the meat in time to get rare beef, pulling it out at 120 internal. The turkey was cooked to 180 and was wonderful. It's not a fryer, and the results don't taste fried, which is a good thing, I think. One down side to frying is that you don't get any drippings with which to make gravy. This unit has a drip tray that does provide that benefit.   We received it as a gift, so for us the value...

Idiot proof cooker

Pros: NO OIL to: purchase, heat up, boil over, cool down, strain and store and NO $$$ for overpriced Peanut Oil

Cons: A few sharp edges, but for the money UNBEATABLE

I own a pair of these, liked the first one so much bought another to do multiple cuts of meat.  Turkeys are fantastic, taste as good as a OIL fried bird.  My all time favorite however is Pork Shoulder.  I don't use it for pulled pork, I like to slice/chunk mine.  Everytime I use this cooker the people that I cook for go GONZO over the meat.  Look online and especially on Craigslist for used one's, people get them and don't use them for whatever reason, I purchased my 2nd one for $50 on craigslist.

The Best

the best cooker I have ever owned, you can make anything you want in just use a bit of planning

The Greatest!

Pros: Easy to use and great results

Cons: Can't smoke

I have had mine for several months and have done turkeys, chickens, roasts, and wings.  This by far the best cooker I have ever used.  Even better than my barrel smoker.  The only regret is that it doesn't smoke.  But I guess you can't have everything.

Pros: Great

Cons: No problems

This not so much a review but I am Looking for a Cover for my Big Easy any help would be appreciated

The Big Easy

Pros: ease of use, FAST, compact size

Cons: must raise off bottom of cooking basket...dead spot

Purchased at a resale shop for $20 bucks. What a deal that was. I have cooked whole chicken, potatoes, and even chicken wing in The Big Easy. The chicken takes 10 minutes a pound and came out crispy on the out side and very juicy on the inside. As for chicken wing...o my god...they are the BEST I have ever had. Take about 45 minutes and with a little modification to the cooking rack, You can cook 3 pounds of wings at one time. › Smokers & More › Fryers & Cookers › Turkey Fryers › Char-Broil The Big Easy Oil-Less Infrared Turkey Fryer › Char-Broil The Big Easy Oil-Less Infrared Turkey Fryer Reviews
