Sweet Baby Ray's Barbecue Sauce - 2/40oz

Not my type of sauce I enjoy

sfprankster

Pros: cheap and easily found at most major retailers

Cons: too sweet and loaded with corn syrup

The corn syrup base makes this sauce a single note flavor of sweetness over riding any other flavors. It overpowers, rather than accentuates, the flavors of my grilled/smoked meats.   Nothing I would recommend.

Whole Spice Paprika smoked - Hot, 1 Pound

Whole Spice Paprika smoked - Hot, 1 Pound

“There is a spectacular difference between good paprika and the bland food coloring grocery stores call paprika. The price of good paprika can also cause sticker shock. Make no mistake, this is fantastic paprika. Maybe a cut lower in flavor than Pimenton or similar, but at 1/4 the price.   This stuff is hot! I put this a notch or two below straight cayenne in heat. I actually need to...” --Plume-o-Smoke

Montgomery Inn Barbecue Sauce 28 ounces (2 bottles)

Montgomery Inn Barbecue Sauce 28 ounces (2 bottles)

“Derived from the Montgomery Inn Restaurant in Cincinnati, Ohio, this sweet and tangy BBQ sauce brought the title of "Ribs King" to founder Ted Gregory by local food critics in 1968. Comedian Bob Hope would have Montgomery Inn ribs flown to his home in Arizona by private jet. Though not a southern style sauce coveted by Pit Masters to cover their offerings please don't count this sauce...” --yankeejoe1911

Sweet Baby Ray's Barbecue Sauce - 2/40oz

“ I read the reviews, and there is nothing wrong with this sauce. However, living in OK I have to say the award-winning Head Country trumps this sauce (granted it may not be available everywhere)   Ray's is ok but very bland, but safe to use w/o worrying about using too much. It is always on sale here because there are so many others that tower above it. Like Tubbs (whole other...” --chainsaw
