Pros: Ease of use/plug and play style/good smoke/versitile
Cons: Thin Metal/Made in China/short warranty 1yr.
This is a good smoker for the beginner who does not want to get to involved with staying up all night monitoring temp/coals. Just fill the hopper and set the temp, when it is warmed up toss in your meat and set your timer. This unit comes with a meat probe that makes it easy to see temp without opening the lid so you wont lose any heat. If compared to a Treager that is about the same size this unit is by far a better value at 200 dollars cheaper and comes standard with the upper rack the Treager does not. Both are Manufactured in China so the material and internal components are most likely the same and both have about the same functionality but I would say the Camp Chef is better.
Cost 599.99 on Amazon and at Bass Pro.
499.99 at Field and Stream store (brick and mortar) or on their line with free shipping.
For durability the Metal is not a thick as I would like but at this price point you can't complain and I would definitely get the cover to keep it dry when not in use. Good amount of space, you could fit 4 slabs of ribs easy lying down, more if you have a rib rack or two and will fit a 12-15 lb turkey no problem.
