Pros: looks nice

Cons: not a real smoker. temp guage way off

bought the brinkman, easy to put together, seasoned as per instructions, couldnt regulate temperature, temp at its lowest was 275 deg.  called brinkman about it. they said that this is the way all their gas smokers are?   this aint smoken its incinerating!!!  took it back to home depot,  building my own.  you get what you pay for

Pros: Propane fuel, able to control heat easily, nice size

Cons: Flame can go out on a windy day, temp gauge is rather rudimentary

This is my first smoker, as recommended by a friend at work.  He's owned several of these and always had much success with this model.

I like the fact that basically it is a propane burner that sits atop a metal drum.  There are two racks inside above a water pan.  You can remove the top section and use it for charcoal but I have not done this.  Also the burner and rack can be used for a boil - like crab or lobster, or even as a turkey fryer if you have a very large pot.

I have easily fit several racks of ribs, or a turkey, or two large pork butts.

The temp gauge just shows warm / ideal / hot - which isn't very useful.  For $10 you can get a new temp gauge on Amazon to replace the stock gauge.  Also, I drilled two holes in the smoker and using JB Weld, attached a t-nut.  One in the middle for a smoker temp probe and another at the top for a meat probe.  Very useful for keeping track of everything instead of opening the unit and loosing heat.  Simply low cost modifications make this a great model.

Burner temp can get really low - however, the flame is exposed.  I have been wrapping the base with aluminum foil to protect against wind.  I'm working on building a metal covering that can hang on there on a more regular basis.  The wind only extinguished my flame once.

Overall I am very happy with this model and would recommend to others looking for an inexpensive propane smoker.
