    Is sit possible to have all your parts cut and ready then rent and or borrow one? Out Home Depot here rents them and also rental companys in the area.

    Gorilla not yet but I do have some high heat gasket goop I want to try after I clean the edged of the doors. I use a charcoal basket with offset dividers and last time I got 9 hours out of one full load.

    Pigcicles, I use the wrench as a cheap azz "lift and drop" ash shaker. Stick it in the draft hole lift and let her drop. As for Mopar, I have a place in my heart for them. My first car and was a ($850.00 in 72) 1969 Plymouth Roadrunner. So should I drop a six pack 440 or a hemi in the smoker...

    Solar, I took a piece of 3/4" rod and turned it down to 5/8th" then drilled through the legs and attached the wheels. The shelf came from a piece of shelving they threw out at work and I cut it to fit then made angle iron brackets to fit.

    Get yourself two good thermometers. One for the smoker and one for the meat. Or a dual probe digital. It's all about temp control. You have to keep the smoker in the smoking range and the meat at the correct finish temp. otherwise your in the dark about what your trying to accomplish here. Which...

    Elkhorn are you stuck on an offset? If not check out the Weber site for the WSM's. Great on fuel holds just as much and no babysitting. I like babysitting my smoker so it's not a big deal. But you can't go wrong with the WSM.

    Yeah just measured mine. Cooker area is 17"x35" inside. Firebox measures 16"x16"x16". 32" to top of front stainless shelf. Need more? Seal up the leaks,use a charcoal basket and use the minion method along with a larger baffle and your fuel times last much longer.
