Yogurt Cheese

    I was taught this from an old friend from India.

    If you take unflavored (plain) yogurt and put it in a couple layers of cheesecloth and hang it in your fridge overnight, you get yogurt cheese. You can add salt and have something like cream cheese. You can add herbs or spices and probably even fill up some ABT's. Or, you could always add fruit and a bit of honey for something with a bit more flavor. It's tangy and very good... [​IMG]

    Not that I am looking for an other hobby but cheese making does sound like fun.

    This one sounds easy to do with minimum investment

    It actually quite good and can be used as a desert cheese too. Thank you for posting it.

    Most soft cheese don't require much of an investment. Your can by milk from the market, use your spaggetti pot to cook it in, and Junket rennet is in many supermarkets in the pudding section for around $2 a box (which will make about 16 lbs of cheese). A cotton hankerchief can be used (and reused)for a strainer bag vice cheesecloth and if you want a mold just poke holes in a butter bowl with an ice pick.

    I think it's the cheapest hobby I've ever had!
