I see you join today. This is a GREAT place to hang out. Lot to learn on here.

Jeff sell his Rub and BBQ sauce recipes. Well worth the money. The money goes to help run this great place.

Be money well spent.

Enjoy your time here.  Better yet, head on over to the Roll Call section and introduce yourself.  Then you will get a real welcome and people will have more info to help you.

Good luck and good smoking.

I'll share with you since you asked so nicely...and Welcome to the SMF...JJ

I have been using this for over 20 years with only a couple of changes as I learned something new. Out of the bottle it is on the spicy side but mellows to a nice Warm once it gets cooked on the meat.

Bubba Q Rub

1/2C Turbinado Sugar

2T Paprika

2T Blk Pepper

2T Wht Pepper

2T Kosher Salt

2T Ancho Chile Pwd

2T Mustard Pwd

2T Granulated Garlic

2T Granulated Onion

2tsp Cayenne Pepper

2tsp Dry Thyme

2tsp Dry Oregano

1T Chinese 5 Spice Pwd

Optional: 1+tsp Cumin...If you like a Tex/Mex flavor

Combine all and mix well...Let rest 24 hrs to develope flavor.

Store in an air tight container

Yield: 1 3/4 Cups...About 8-10 Racks of Ribs worth.

BTW...Leave out the Sugar and 5 Spice for an... Awesome Blackening Spice...JJ

Greensmoke,JJ gave you a good Rub recipe (although a little sweet for me),use that as a base and add or subtract the flavors,i.e.-if you don't like the Chinese 5-Spice, switch it out for -say Gr. Cloves. Or go any direction you like , it fun to poat with flavors and you can get as imaginative as you like.

Have fun and
