Hello all,

First post, but actually joined the site a few months ago.  Started smokin this summer and so far not too bad.  I bought a small and cheap smoker to start out with(char broil American) from wal-mart. Soon realized that I would soon need to step up to a little better model, but works for the time being.

Anyway the reason for this post is that I just completed a few minor mods to the smoker.(extend stack closer to grates, small deflector plate by firebox) Which was not an easy task given the 20 degree temps.Would like to thank everyone for posting helpful tips and info..    GO PACKERS......

First off welcome to SMF. You'll really like this place for there are a bunch of really good folks here that would just love to help you with just about anything to do with smoking meat. Then if you have any questions you just post them here or yu can try in chat for a faster answer. If you are really new to all of this I would recommend that you look up and take the e-course.
