I rubbed them in honey and then a good rub with brown suger, wrapped them and let marinade over night.

Threw in some abts about 2 hours into the smoke. Great snack with beers!


I used applewood and smoked them for about 6 hour at between 220 and 240. Keepem moist with some apple juice in a simple spray bottle Wrapped the shoulder in foil and put it back in for another 2 hours at 225, didnt foil the ribbs. I used a store bought Hickory Brown Suger BBQ sauce and all was damn good!

Nothing like smoked ribs, pulled pork and baseball season around the corner. Nice looking smoke!
 
Question on the taste: was the crust on the ribs really sweet or did the smoke mellow out the sweetness form the sugar and honey?

matt, how did you like that netted shoulder compared to a regular bone in shoulder? Did it cook about the same as the bone in does? I ask this because, Sat. was the first time I smoked and pulled a Shoulder, and they had those netted shoulders, but I didn't know how it would turn out, so opted for the bone in one. It looks like yours turned out fine.
 
I haven't done a bone in yet but will some day. I think the netted shoulder was great and Im gonna stick with them. I heated some up at work 2 days later and it was still moist and flavorful. Great sandwichs!!
