water smoker

what do you fellows think about a water smoker verses a regular stick burning non water smoker?

does anyone out there own a water smoker? is it worth the extra cost for backyard bbq?

​Danny if you are referring to the WSMs ,they are great smokers I use mine without the water pan.I did get a BBQ Guru for it and it is set and forget,did a Pastrami on Sunday with it.

I'm probably in the minority, but I always put water in the water pan, when I'm hot smoking.

tropics that good looking pastrami, thats makes my mouth water,only tring to see if the water smoker (competition style is worth the money) does it make your food come out more juicy. i have a lang patio 36, and i do not have any problems with dry things that i smoke, if i did, i think it would have needed brined.

al i do not think your a minority, most all competition smoker use a water pan, or a water smoker.
