Finally got my smoker back!!! Recently I have been thinking of using various liquids like sodas or beer instead of water for the brine.

Anyone ever try this?

I figure with soda the sugar content is to high so dilute it some. Right now I have some thighs and drumsticks brining, I kept 4 thighs aside and 1/3 of the "water" i used ginger ale. Probably could of just thrown ginger in instead, but I am also interested in trying some rootbeer or cream soda.

Now I have found a good brine and I haven't tried anything else yet it works so good too. I used Tip's Slaughter House Brine for Poultry and it is the bomb.

The ginger ale batch didn't turn out with any giant taste difference. Something I will plan to play around more with.
