The main advantage of RF is consistant and good temperature control. Heat is given off to RF plate as smoke travels under it. Plate then radiates heat upward into cook chamber.

Moving the stack is obvious, But IM curious was it really necessary to lower the fire box? I have been kicken the idea around for awhile I just picked up my TMLE, Still have to make up my mind if IM gonna make an RF or just put a baffle at the FB end. Nice work by the way. Never mind figured it out.
