I need an inexpensive probe that can get into the 200* range. This one has presets but can be reprogrammed. I don't know if that means it can go higher. Anyone have experience with this probe?

No experience with that model, but if you're just looking for a cheap meat probe there's a Taylor #1487 for $18 to $25, depending on seller. Our local WallyWorld has them in store, too. No presets, just set the alarm where you want...just a simple, no BS meat probe with a range from 32*F to 482*F on the alarm set-points. I now have 3 or them...been using one for about 2 years, one is about a year old and the third is about a month old...no issues using rechargeable battery (1 x AAA)...goes for several days of smoking on a charge...alkaline may run for a few months for the average user. It has a magnetic mount on the back (I've hung them on the side of my WSM with that, just below the lid...the head never gets hot mounted there), screw/nail hanger mount or a fold-out table-top support. Stainless braided cables with about 6" long angled probe...cable is about 3ft...could be longer, but I have my table close to my cookers, so it works fine for me. I have set probe head units on top of my propane cabinet smokers in the past and never overheated them when rested on a wood block for insulation.

Hello pukhed33,

Thanks for your interest in our products, if you are still interested in our TP07, I can give you some brief info on it!

The product is great for cooking in the range you would like, and is good for single meat readings. The unit comes with a smart LCD back light and presets for certain meats and cooks, but of course you have the option to customize your own temperature!

We appreciate your interest in our products and I would like to offer all forum users a code for 20 % off all our ThermoPro products from our online storefront.

But does it have a "shut the @#%$#@!@ alarm off" setting? With the cheap POS Webber I'm using now I have to set the alarm up to 500 so it won't always be going off.

@scubohuntr

Our TP08 has a alarm silencer! Check it out

Thanks,

Dillon
