thermometer location

    my uds is reading cold with a thru the wall thermometer.my summer sausage was getting to 156 internal way too fast.should i A.remove tm and hang an oven tm beside sausages on hanging rack.B.install heat deflector over 1250 watt element.C.open for ideas.[​IMG]

    I have my thermometer in the center of my lid, heat rises was my thought. Once I get my fire stable it cruises at 250* Hope this helps.

    I stick my probes through the wall next to my sausge. I want my therm really close and I also put one up top and bottom if Im smoking long links of sausage.

    While I whole heartedly agree with the heat rises thingy, i do not think it gets hotter as it does [​IMG] But ive been wrong b4[​IMG]
