Okay, I want to show of hands for all you folks who've been bitten by the same bug as I have.  Since I got my smoker, here's what I've noticed. As I drive down the street I spy every branch or twig that is laying on the ground and wonder if I can use that in my smoker.  I want to gather them all up like some reality show hoarder and take them back to my lair.  Before the smoker - BST in my timeline - I knew there were trees out there, but I didn't really pay much attention to them. Now, it's become an obsession.

I just wish I hadn't slept through all those classes in high school so I could actually identify some of these trees

My wife is starting to question my sanity. When neighbors are trimming their trees, they look up and see me standing there with a somewhat crazy look in my eye, a little like a dog begging for a Milk Bone.I can't help myself.

Now, when I do smoke something using this found wood, like last Sunday when I smoked some spares using oak that I found on the back of my property and plum from the neighbors tree, all is forgiven. Sweet obsession.

You're definitely not the only one, Curt.  Just leave some for the rest of us in the Tri-valley!!!!
