what do you all do to keep it clean.?

yesterday was my 2nd smoke with it and its pretty messy. i clean the grates and all obviously. what do you recommend doing with the inside of it.?

anything like my old one and can probably get pretty messy. I was thinking about lining the bottom with some tin foil for easy clean up of the droppings and any sauce that misses the drip pan.

Foil idea's good. just clean only when flakes may detach and hit the food. A little brushing will do it. If you feel the need to car wash it, you'll have to re-season it.

Tbone: tin foil is about the size of it. I don't mess around much with the inside, wipe up anything that wan'ts to try and run out the front. Otherwise it's like a commercial popcorn popper pot, "don't you dare touch the coating on it"!

But I do agree with Rich as far as foil on the bottom for the wet goo stuff-however I don't have that unit-mine converted with hot plate-with lava rock in pan around plate-most drips end up in there & burn off.
