I bought a very very cheap smoker a few weeks ago and figured i would try it this summer, and if i like smoking with a offset smoker. Ill buy a nice one once summer is over. Well Im already hooked and ready to start looking. Iv got my eye on the yoder Wichita or the horizon 20" from bass pro shop. I was at bass pro today taking a look at it and was very impressed with it. they are about the same size smoker with about 1,000 sq in of cooking area. What do you guys think?

I bought a CharGriller side by side last year to get a feel for it, I love the style of smoker but hated the inefficiency and how much fuel I had to throw at it to work, I couldn't leave more than 5 min before having to check the temp in the smoke box, Bought a Yoder Cheyenne because I don't do large amounts when I smoke and would end up wasting fuel to keep the Wichita hot for 10 hrs to do a single pork butt, I love my Yoder, very efficient and stable, I can walk away for at least an hour and not worry about temps dramatically changing, plus upgraded from my old wireless Maverick temp probe to the new dual probe, I'm on a 1/2 acre and can go to the far end of the property and still monitor the meat and smoker

If I were buying a new stick burner ,it would be a Shirley Fabrication. You can't the unit or the people.I have a Lang 60 and love it.There are a lot of quality smokers out there. But while you are deciding which one , go a head and be stocking up on wood and spices.lol

Can't go wrong with a Shirley

Im a big fan of the Lang Smokers. I have a Lang 36 patio and i love using her every weekend. i would smoke during the week but i cant stay up that late nor afford that much meat!

I have found the lang to be a great value for the money i paid for it and a smoker that will last me a long long time. You can read my review further in the review section of this website.

Happy Smoking,
