Hi guys new here been serfing around and great info. my question is Im going to smoke two birds in the same smoker in the morning its a brinkman charcoal gourment does it mater which bird to put the weber Audio digital thermometer in ( the top or bottom bird ) or does it matter. will one cook a littler faster than the other since it is closer to the heat source? I have smoked quite a few birds before but only one @ a time on the top shelf and I dont want to over cook one of them. heres a pic of my smoker.

Welcome to the SMF. Stop over into roll call and give a proper introduction. It's kind of a rule around here.

I don't own your particular smoker, but on my WSM I've noticed that the bottom runs 10-15* cooler. But you should make sure that you thermo check both birds. They may not cook equally based on the smoker, the fat in the bird, connective tissues, etc. Like kids, treat them as individuals.

Oh, and the other rule...you've got to take some pictures of your smoke and share them with the forum. No qview, never happened. You'll feel silly at first and everyone will make fun of you. But soon you'll be addicted.

I think dude is talking about our friends and relatives making fun of us.. and they sure do!!!! Ive never taken pictures of my food before i became a member of this site. Now, i take pics of everything i cook!!! It still gets the "eye roll" from my S.O. ... but dude is right.. You'll get hooked!
By the way, Welcome!! Hope you enjoy all there is to offer here!!! And there is A LOT of information and help offered here!!
