Greetings from West Virginia!
After months of lurking (It took that long to read the last year of posts), I recently took the plunge. I started with a MB electric. The set it and forget it idea should help ease me into what is certain to become an addiction. Following seasoning suggestions from this forum, my first rack of pork ribs were on the following day. The smoker sure looked big with a single rack of ribs and wanting to do my part conserving energy, I looked for things to fill it. Found a can of peanuts in the pantry and filled a screened shelf. A pound of bacon soon occupied another shelf in my first attempt at pig candy. Everything went perfectly and I worked on the leftovers for a couple of days. Why is the pig candy not on a menu somewhere? The stuff is incredible. Used it to kick a blt up a notch. There are a couple of pork butts in the fridge awaiting the same fate tomorrow.

Sure sounds like you're off to a good start. Keep it up!
