Hello everyone, my name is Dave. I live in Colorado Springs,Colorado at the foot of beautiful Pikes Peak.... that 14,110 foot high pile of rock that keeps us wondering what she is going to throw at us next in the weather department. BUT I love it here and have been here since 1969 having grown up in Minnesota.

I am retired from the retail grocery business and even after four and half years of retirement..... I can not get this silly grin wiped off my face. Especially in the morning as my head clears and I realize that..... hey, I don't have to go to the store and fight the battle any longer. When old employees ask what I do all day....... I just tell them.... ANYTHING I PLEASE. And that pretty well sums it up.

This gives me the time to do some smoking between fishing and hunting and shooting the various shooting games.

I am using a Smoking Tex smoker but have some concerns that I need to work out..... may be me, or it may be the smoker. We shall see.

Looking forward to spending time with all the fine folks on this site and learning as much as I can. I have deer, elk and anti-goats to cut and smoke most every fall. Will be getting into sausage making much heavier in the near future. My days in the grocery business started out as a meat cutter..... so meat, meat cutting, smoking, sausages making and everything that goes with it is 'in my blood' for sure.

Greeting to all of you.

Dave

Hey, welcome to THE best smoking site available with a bunch of characters just sitting around plotting their next smoke.  Got to agree with your comments about retirement.  Started that trail last year April and haven't looked back since.  Why, one of the bennies is that we're visiting our adult children, just up the road from you in the Denver Metro area for the month or so.  You can't do that if you're a working stiff. Nice area, the Springs.  Lived there back in the '80s as one of those members of the US Government sponsered Flying Club (USAF).  I think you're going to like it on this site.  Lots to learn and lots of people to help you along the way.  Everyday seems to have something "I gotta try out, soon".
