Does someone know what they changed and can the original unit be modified to have the newer backdraft design they have come out with, I have the original and am "middle of the road" as far as how well I like it as I seem to get LOTS of heavy white smoke, but have trouble getting anywhere a "thin blue" smoke with this.

All I ever got from my Big Kahuna was grief & creosote. I put mine away for 6 months. Then I saw the backdraft design. My son called them to ask about how to change it over. The people there are very nice. They said, if you send it to them, they'll switch it over for you, but the guy told my son how to do it. We tried it on some cheese. It didn't remove the problems. I still had to tap it frequently, or jab a screwdriver into it to get it to burn when it stalls. Then it burns uncontrollably, no matter where you have your air set, causing serious creosote (Threw the cheese away). I cleaned it up again (only cut 2 knuckles this time) and put it away & lit up my A-MAZE-N-SMOKER.

I guess I'm just too stupid to use it right.
