Just wanted to post pics for everyone of my smokin pit refub, It was in bad shape when I bought it but with a little bit of time and effort I think it looks pretty respectable, So for a little over $50 total investment I mthink I have done pretty good. Next will come a tuning plate setup that I am still engineering in my head, so anyway the pics.

Kind of wish I had done that instead of buying a new one. The new ones are a lot thinner than the older ones. My neighbor has one on his porch that I probably could have picked up for $50 or so.

Oh well.

Great job, little bit o work and ya got a new smoker. What did you have to do the inside???

I have also noticed, at least with the char-grillers that the material is getting thinner. Im stickin with my classic and takin notes on how to refurb from this post.

Well done!

Still working on the inside, it was pretty rusted there as well, I ground off all the scaling and rust with a wire wheel in my drill then I coated it with lots of EVOO and Vegtable oil and cooked in it, kinda like seasoning cast iron.

Nice work... that is the Smoke n' Pit Pitmaster Deluxe... just like mine. I can tell from the bottom rack, firebox vent, handles, etc., and it is heavier gauge steel. I just got done doing my spring cleaning and touch up on mine. Ought to last several more years if I keep after it.

Again, nice work!
