Got my new smoker put togther last evening. Can wait to get this thing seansoned and get it going.

My question is on seasoning. My understanding is to season it the way you are going to use it. How long should I do this and how hot.

    Thanks for the help.

Spray the inside of your smoker with vegetable oil (in a spray bottle) or Pam. Make sure you get all interior surfaces sprayed with oil including the grates. Put some wood chunks into the wood box and fire up the smoker,
(when I seasoned my GOSM the first time, I didn't use the water pan)
so your chamber temps reaches 300+ degrees. Let your smoker run for about an hour and then turn off the propane. Leave the smoker closed up and let it cool down (perferably overnight.) Make sure that the wood you use is the type used for smoking foods. Don't use soft woods.

    Hope this helps.
