Hello all, I am one of those people that were born in the early 1950's, so now I am finding there is more to life than just work. Like spending time with one of my cooking utensils. At the present I have a couple Weber Kettles, a 14.5" (bought for a future mini smoker) and a 18.5", also have a Brinkman R2D2 style smoker and my Napolean grill for the fast cook. I have been lurking through the postings for some time now and have finally took the big step of 'Roll Call'. Looking forward to receiving help and also adding my .02 cents to some of the posts.

Welcome fellow BCite. You'll love this forum. I just started smoking last fall and had limited success until I found this forum. I have learned so much from the kind members. They are generous with answers to your questions and there are a ton of great ideas in the postings. One of the ways I learned the most was posting my projects with pictures and I always got support, advice and suggestions for differing ways to do things.

I look forward to learning from your posts.

I am sure you will love this forum as much as I do.

You should sign up for Jeff's Free 5 day E-Course, and it's great!  This is chock full of great information....no matter what your experience level might be!

If you didn't read the "Terms of Service" notes.....please do.  There are a few things that everyone should know about those pesky little rules before plunging into the forums and some guidelines of how to interact within the forums. Off site links are not allowed here at SMF per Jeff. Not that you have done anything wrong....just a little bit of FYI for new members!

If you need any help roaming around the forums....just holler!  Happy to help out!

I'm on the other side of the country, near Hamilton ON. My wife introduced me to grilling to which I then wanted to do more. Went from a charcoal bbq to a charcoal bbq with an offset firebox. Oh, my wife is from Cali where can bbq year round.

Welcome to SMF, Bince!  This is the best place I know for sharing ideas on smoking, grilling, curing, etc.  There are plenty of friendly, knowledgeable folks who really enjoy helping one another.  When you can't find the answer you're looking for, just ask and someone here will have the answer.
