So, if you're like me, you ignored the advice to wrap your GOSM water pan in foil. And if you have, yours is probably like mine, gross and covered in pork shoulder "left-behinds".

So here's what I thought, my Self Cleaning oven does a pretty good job of cleaning itself, why not throw in the GOSM racks and water pan as well?

I did last night, and it worked GREAT! No more smokey-greasy film on the pan, no more concrete hard crunchies on the pan- it's good as new!

    Now..where's my beer!

Not a bad suggestion, might have even been able to save some on the energy bill and just scrubbed that stuff outta there [IMG]. Another suggestion is to place them on a grill (if you have one) and turn that sucker up to 400 or so and have the smoker stuff self-clean on the grill grates.

I have used the self-cleaning oven to clean my grill racks and it did a fantastic job. Looked good as new when they came out! Whenever I get enough time on the GOSM, I'll probably clean them this way too. Yeah, I could put some elbow grease into it, or I could pop them in the oven, have a few beers, and come back in a few hours to clean racks!

Sumo, This is what I do for the grates and foil the pan as mentioned.

It really makes it nice and clean- And if you time it at the same time your cleaning your oven, you save energy as well.

Ron, I forgot to add that I plan to try what you suggest as well. I am kind of weak on the scrub effort factor ya need with the grill method. (I only have ECB, too - not too much different from GOSM for this I assume)
