that would be just the ticket just the ticket!

on the other subject i think i will put a piece or two of charcoal in the chip box to keep the belly warm. after looking around this sight some, i

think i will put some cheese in there too.

bear ,

one big stick would be great but what to do with the carcass! just kidding(maybe)

as for keeping warm enough i think i will try a couple briquets in the chip box. and as long as i am at it i think i will try my first cheese at the same time

why not go for the gold as the wife says.

I agree, if you have the room, fill it up! Also, if you have a green light from the old lady, run with it. Cant pass an opportunity like that up! HAHA! Looking forward to seeing your bacon and hopefully...your cheese

finished the bacon last night, now need to get a camera so i can post pics next time(and there will be many next times!) ended up soaking in cold water for about 2 hours to remove some of the salt

dried it off, added plenty of pepper, and smoked for about 6 hours. best bacon i ever had.

going to get more bellies and do a bigger batch next week. thanks for all your help and advice everyone!

Yup.. the homemade bacon is awesome. Glad you did good on your first try.
