Looking through the sticky UDS thread, there's this:

http://www.thesmokering.com/pits/met...by/default.jsp

link to the "Big Baby" smoker.

I've done the research and found some parts, pretty much all of them by Vogelzang. I'm not 100% sure I'm seeing things right though.

If you choose a Vogelzang kit, say this:

http://www.vogelzang.com/images/BK150EpartsLG.gif

it comes with the door, legs, and damper.

If you look at the double-barrel adapter kit found here:

http://www.vogelzang.com/images/BK50EpartsLG.gif

it has the extra legs and two collars.

The collars in the adapter kit are not the same as the damper in the main kit, so one would presume that for the two flue method described in the original link, you'd need two sets of collars. I can't find extra collars.

What my mind is telling me is that you need the main kit, the adapter kit, an extra set of collars, and that the damper that comes with the main kit isn't used.

The barrels are connected with the two sets of collars, some miscellaneous pipe, and separate flues. The smokestacks contain their own dampers.

Does this sound right to everyone? Am I crazy? Where can one find extra collars?

Scrap the idea and build 2 UDS's like your title says!

..."Before you get started, make sure you have the stuff you'll need. The drums you should be able to find for about ten or twenty dollars; the stove kits (it takes two)..."
Cut from your first link.
Says here you need two full kits.
Unless I'm wrong, have fun.
