Prime Rib Christmas with Chef Jimmy J’s Au Jus

    Onion, Carrots, Celery, Garlic, Baby Portabella Mushrooms all cut up and ready to become ChefJimmy’s Au Jus.

    Baby Portabella Mushrooms are not listed in ChefJimmy’s Au Jus, but I love mushrooms, and think they work great in the Au Jus.

    After a hour added the beef broth the the pan of veggies

    A little something to snack on, bacon wrapped scallops

    Heaven.

    You just can't beat Prime Rib w/ JJ's Au Jus.

    I came very close to not making JJ's Au Jus. As we were at the store buying every thing we needed the wife asked why not just buy a can and be done with it? For a second I thought she right but then I told her I just wanted to try. After we tried it we will be making it again, thanks JJ.

    [​IMG]  nothing better then a good smoked prime rib rare to med rare.  I'm hungry for some prime but it's cost prohibitive here over $10 per when I checked last Monday.

    Looks great.  We make our own au jous but have never thought to put it in the smoker.  Great job.

    That looks awesome! Did u do it in the smoker, or offset grill? Also, what temp and time? I've got one, and want to do it too.

    What do you do with the vegetables after you strain them out for the Au Jus?
