Pork Butt MES40 *Qview*

    Smoking my first pork butt todat in my MES 40. Also using the a-maze-n pellet smoker for the first time with the pitmaster blend from Todd. I love this thing

    Yup that's the 2.5- super easy to use. No complaints! I'm sitting at 178F

    It sure does! I did Ribs last week without it and it wasn't this easy!

    Better late then never. I pulled it and hit it with some finishing sauce. Pretty good. Not bad for my first go around on the MES AMNPS combo. Wasn't as smokey as I like it. Any ideas to remedy that? Light both ends of the maze?

    Since you asked, I would Suggest using Hickory for more smoke flavor.

    Yup, always use JJ's finishing sauce on pork butts!
    Thanks Bear! I need to find your thread on how to clean the window on the MES. one long smoke has rendered it useless!
     
  17. I keep a razor blade scraper on my kit. I use it every 2-3 smokes. Quick and easy.

    I use Awesome grill cleaner. Cost a dollar at the dollar store. Works awesome lol. Makes its simple.

    Now that's a nice smoke. Nice bark and the PP looks great.

    I agree with John about using hickory for pork butt--it's my giro wood. Miss Linda prefers pecan, but I find it a little mild.
