    Im looking for a good refrigerator pickle recipe any one willing to share one

    None of mine are for Fridge pickles....but I have some friends that love the Mrs. Wages pickle packets and swear by them.  You can find those where the Ball Products are in Wal-mart or the grocery stores.

  3. I saw this one on line looks pretty easy and good, We can a lot of stuff, this year we did bread a butter pickles.



    • 1 1/2 cups white vinegar
    • 3/4 cup sugar $

    • 3/4 teaspoon salt
    • 1/2 teaspoon mustard seeds
    • 1/2 teaspoon celery seeds
    • 1/2 teaspoon ground turmeric
    • 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper
    • 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
    • 4 garlic cloves, thinly sliced


    1. Place 3 cups cucumber in a medium glass bowl; top with 1 cup onion. Repeat procedure with the remaining 3 cups cucumber and remaining 1 cup onion.
    2. Combine vinegar and remaining ingredients in a small saucepan; stir well. Bring to a boil; cook 1 minute. Pour over cucumber mixture; let cool. Cover and chill at least 4 days.
    3. Note: Pickles may be stored in the refrigerator for up to one month.
  4. I love to cold cure pickles. That way I don't have to worry about having enough pickles ripe at the same time. I only grow two plants and I get enough cukes for about 20+ quarts. I usually do a quart at a time.

    Quart Jar

    1 Tbl Whole Peppercorns

    1 tsp mustard seed

    3-4 fresh cayenne peppers ( I grow them too)

    1/8th cup Ball Pickling spice (get it at the grocery store)

    Pinch of Ball Pickle crisp

    4 clove garlic whole or sliced

    1 cup water

    1/2 cup cider vinegar

    Fresh dill a sprig or two

    Add all spices, garlic, peppers to jar. Cut pickles into spears after trimming the ends. Pack them tightly into the jar. jam in the dill and fill to 1/2" below jar rim with the vinegar water mixture. You may have to add more liquid if the jar isn't packed full. Screw on lid and ring tightly and place in fridge. They will be ready in 30 days. I haven't had a bad batch yet. Tart with a kick and easy peasy.

    I haven't done them from scratch, but there is a company in Saegertown,  Pa called "Herbs for Healthful Living". They are on the net.

    They have an amazing B&B kit that you mix with sugar, vinegar and salt. They also have a very good dill recipe that I add a lot of garlic to. I usually do them in the summer because they're so refreshing and easy to make.

    I have tried a couple of their dips and wasn't impressed.
