Hello all I am fairly new to this as my wife blessed me with a smoker for my birthday.  It isn't the one I would have purchased, Oklahoma Joe, but you don't kick a gift horse in the mouth. The biggest problem i have now is finding the wood I need for my stick burner here in Mechanicsville. So far all I can find is the expensive stuff at Bass Pro so if anyone has any suggestions please jump in.

I did a quick look on craigslist and there are plenty of people out there looking to unload wood.  Look for oak it's very abundant and local and works great on every thing.  Hard woods only no pine or stuff like that. If you don't mond driving East Coast Smoking woods in Norfolk sells wood.  But craigslist will be your best bet.

Thanks mlmartinet I did find enough locally to last awhile but the next time I down towards the beach i will definitely be stopping by East Coast Smoking.
