    great on the grill!
    • 1 tsp. ground ginger OR 4 tsp. minced fresh gingerroot
    • 1 garlic clove, minced
    • 1 Tbsp. canola oil
    • 1/2 cup sherry or chicken broth
    • 1/4 cup honey
    • 1/4 cup reduced-sodium soy ssauce
    • 1 Tbsp. sesame seeds
    • 1 Tbsp. orange zest or grated orange peel (no white pith!)
    • 3/4 tsp. hot pepper sauce
    • 4 bone-in pork loin chops (6 oz. each)
    • 1 tsp. cornstarch
    • 2 Tbsp. water
in a saucepan, cook ginger and garlic in oil for 1 inute; remove from heat. stir in the sherry or broth, honey, soy sauce, sesame seeds, orange zest or peel and hot pepper sauce; mix well. pour 1/2 cup of mixture into small bowl; set aside. pour remaining marinade into a large resealable plastic bag; add pork chops. seal bag and turn to coat; refrigerate for at least one hour.
meanwhile, in a saucepan, combine cornstarch and water until smooth; add reserved marinade. bring to a boil; cook and stir for one minute or until thickened.
drain and discard marinade from the pork. coat grill rack with nonstick cooking spray before starrting grill. grill chops, covered, over medium heat for 4 minutes. turn, baste with sauce. grill 15-20 minutes longer or until juices run clear, basting occasionally. serve with any remaining sauce.

    andy -

if you give it a try, i hope you like it. normally, i am not much of a fan of ginger, but it seems to go well here as it does with teriyaki.

This recipe has my interest. I love ginger but normally in a stir fry with chicken or beef.
We grill a lot of pork chops being in Iowa so will definitely give this a try soon.

    Thanks for sharing the recipe.

    teeotee -

glad to share it - we got it out of one of those little recipe books you see in the check-out stands at wal-mart or grocery stores. i beleive the lady who submitted it was from cheyenne, but can't swear to it.

in any case, enjoy and if you try it, let me know what you think.
