SMF,

I came across this site about two weeks ago and it helped me a lot with my first venture into smoking last weekend.  Figured I should join the fun!  Got into BBQ after living in KC for a couple years and now that I'm in DC, I have to smoke my own since I can't find the good stuff!

I picked up the Lowe's Master Forge gas/charcoal 2 door.  I attempted to just use charcoal but couldn't get the heat up so made a run to the hardware store to grab some propane and get it going.  It worked great once I got the propane.  Impressed the gf with some ribs, little drier than expected but couldn't really complain for my first attempt.  I'll be adding the rope gasket prior to my next smoking session.

Well, like I said earlier, this forum was a great help the other weekend.  Thanks and I look forward to talking with you all more and picking your brains for tips!
