NOOB from Illinois

    Hi all, first time smoker here. Doing my first smoke tomorrow while I'm at work, 4.5lbs pork shoulder. I'm using the MES 30" I just purchased. I love smoke and BBQ meat and I'm super excited to try my hand at this. I also just ordered the AMNPS smoker for my MES too. For my rub I just picked up some Grill mates pork rub. Didn't use anything else and covered it in fridge for the night. Loving the forum as everyone seems to be so helpful. Any tips for my smoke is appreciated. Thanks

    Getnwithit, welcome to SMF!  Glad you are here and so excited about exercising your new MES.  Keep us posted on how the shoulder turned out for you.

    Well I had my neighbor add chips to smoker while I was at work. Set timer  for 6 hrs,  got home and the darn thin isn't cooked thru. I put in tin pan covered in oven @ 250 for now. Hopefully after a few hrs it will be good to go. The bark looks good so far
