    Hi all, newbie to the forum as well as smoking. Picked up a cheap grill that doubles as a smoker  this past weekend. Although I am not new to grilling, I am new to smoking meat. Look forward to learning from the ecourse and the forums. Been several years since i have owned a non gas grill so it is going to take a few fires to relearn heat control.

    So far I ran an initial seasoning with charcoal. Performed another seasoning fire today with some hickory chunks mixed in.

    Welcome aboard Lee!  We're glad you've joined the SMF family.  You've found a great place to learn and share ideas on smoking, grilling, curing, etc.  Lots of friendly members here who really know their stuff and enjoy helping and sharing.  Just ask when you have questions...someone will surely be able to help.
