I live in Salt Lake City UT. I work for the U.S.P.S., I sell stamps. I try to go fishing on Sunday and consider myself a member of the church of the 7th day angler. I try to fish 3 out of 4 sundays every month. My favorite fish to fish for are Kokanee Salmon and thats where I started trying to smoke fish. I started with a 3 in 1 smoker from cabela's. I ran out of propane a couple of times, Ive replaced the regulator twice. I tried doing charcol and just could not figure out how to keep the heat at a constant temp. I turned 50 yesterday and my wife bought me a Cajun Injector electric smoker. I am hoping to be able to perfect my salmon and try to smoke some diffrent meats as well. Thanks in advance for all the help I hope to be recieving and also thanks in advance for having paticence with my dumb and sometimes stupid questions.

Welcome to SMF! I'm not familiar with your 3 and 1 smoker but I'm sure others on the forum have. There are probably some mods that have been figured out. Try the search bar and see if anything comes up.

to SMF!  We are so glad you joined us!

We love to see pictures of what you are cooking (or what we call q-views here at SMF).  To "upload the q-views" just follow the directions here and it will be easier. If you are using a cell phone, an IPad or a kindle, go to the main SMF page and click the Mobile button. Will make the uploads a bit faster too.

If you didn't read the "Terms of Service" notes.....please do.  There are a few things that everyone should know about those pesky little rules before plunging into the forums and some guidelines of how to interact within the forums. Off site links are not allowed here at SMF per Jeff. Not that you have done anything wrong....just a little bit of FYI for new members!

If you need any help roaming around the forums....just holler!  Happy to help out!

Welcome. You'll love this forum. I just started smoking last fall and had limited success until I found this forum. I have learned so much from the kind members. They are generous with answers to your questions and there are a ton of great ideas in the postings. One of the ways I learned the most was posting my projects with pictures and I always got support, advice and suggestions for differing ways to do things.

I am sure you will love this forum as much as I do.
