newbie to smoking meat

    built a smoker kinda big 4feet by 2 feet   and used it but it charred on the side of it . my question is can you spray adhesive inside a smoker to secure tin foil to the sides of the smoker to contain the heat that way  with out it charring the sides of my smoker

    Mike welcome to SMF glad you joined us. I have never seen a well used smoker that's not "charred" inside. Most of us season the smoker by cleaning it then spraying the inside with Pam spray or wiping the inside with cooking oil then firing up the smoker for a few hours to let it cook in this will seal for you. If you have proper venting and draft everything should be fine. What are you firing it with wood or something else?

    Welcome aboard! Can you take some pics of the charring you're talking about? If you look through the Q-Views here almost every smoker on here gets blackened from cooking. No big deal.
