Been smoking on my Weber a little while. Now looking at going over to electric. Got a lot of info From reading here, so I thought I'd become a member and give my feed back.

Welcome from SC. It's good to have you on this great site. Your post is a trap for me. I smoke on an offset and use charcoal and wood. That having been said, I never worry about a heating element going bad or the power going off or any number of things. I just add a split of wood and enjoy playing with the fire and eating the most delicious flavored meat anywhere around.

I'll leave it at that. I'm sure you will get a lot of advice. Good luck, Joe

Thanks! Glad to be here. I won't be giving up on the good ole traditional smoking. Just wanna see what all the hype is on the electrics

Having options is a great idea.

That's a great Idea, Jack. Sometimes I like white oak, sometimes I like red oak. :yahoo::yahoo:

You know I can't leave it alone. LOL. Joe

Good evening and welcome to the forum, from a nice chilly day here in East Texas, and the best site on the web. Lots of great people with tons of information on just about  everything.
