Found this forum whilst looking for smoking recipes, new to smoking but not cooking, excuse me if I ask stupid questions in my quest.

I.m a retired chef of 20 years and live in a small town in West Yorkshire, England

I don't have a smoker as yet but am looking into making one from a propane tank, it will be of an upright design due to lack of space

and will also double up as a barbecue/ pizza oven if everything works out.

Similar to this......

Good morning and welcome to the forum, from another cloudy and rainy day here in East Texas. Lots of great people with tons of information on just about  everything.

Hi Georgie - Welcome to the forum.

There are a growing number of us here from the UK with all levels of experience. If there is anything you want to know then just ask. No questions are too trivial. The only silly question is the important one one that doesn't get asked. There is quite a bit of UDS experience here in the UK however you can also tap into the vast experience of all of our fellow enthusiasts in the USA. When you get your tank you might want to post up its dimensions as someone her may already have plans that you could base your on.

If you get a change please pop by the UK Smokers group and say Hi. We are currently arranging out second annual meeting in Lincoln at the end of July if you are interested. No competition - no experience necessary - just the desire to share or gain experiences over a few beers and to tuck in to some great BBQ cooked on the day.

I am sure Danny (out tame Texan) will be in contact with you soon and will send you some details.

Cheers

Wade

Hi Wade and thanks for the welcome, I just joined the UK smokers group, will be scouring it for info all evening.

The beard is a little longer just now, I'm growing it for charity, gonna shave it off in July which will be almost a year for Prostate Cancer UK.
