Hello all, I'm Joel from SC and I love to grill. I have a Orion smoker, a Big Easy, Brinkmann Smoke n Grill, Brinkmann Smoke n Pit, Masterbuilt electric smoker, charcoal grill, 4 turkey fryers, traller with 3 gas grills on it. 3x5, 2x3, 2x3 and just bought a Well Cargo BBQ trailer. I mostly cook for charity - March of Dimes - Relay for Life - American Heart - McLeod Children's Foundation - I've just started cooking with smoke and have a lot to learn. So glad I found this forum.
I have cooked in a local whole hog competition here for the last ten years and have placed 5th, 2nd, 4th, & 3rd 4 times. I think I need some smoke for first place. I need to find out how to add a smoke box to my grill. Thanks for the help - pooldaddy9

Hey Joel...Welcome to SMF. Might not need a smokebox... maybe just a bit of wood off the either end of the coals. A box would allow for a true smoke for other things like butts and brisket tho, using only the heat from the coals/wood to heat the cooker.

I have yet to do whole hog, but many here have...they'll be around soon!

Welcome to the SMF!! Your not from the Florence area are you?

In your first post you mentioned McLeod Hospital and I used to work up there in my previous life.
