Newbie from Baltimore

  1. Hey SMF boardmates, I am from Baltimore(yeah I'll figure out how to smoke a crab later), and I just put together my Traeger BBQ155 this morning. Work schedule won't allow me to fire it up until this weekend. Following Bearcarver and looking forward to doing a Prime Rib after I test a yardbird or 2. Have a leg o lamb in the freezer, but not boneless and will be looking for suggestions about that later. Have a Brinkman Gas 4burner, Weber 22" Charcoal turkey fryers etc. Glad to be here.

  3. Hello Poisonboy and welcome to the fun.  Many good folk here with a load of experience that they are more than willing to share.  If you have specific questions just start a thread and someone with experience will be along soon to offer advice.  Spend some time doing some research on the forums, tons of advice and recipes already available there.  You picked a good one to follow.  We look forward to your contributions.  Have fun.  Good luck.  Keep Smokin!

  4. Thanks from across the pond Danny. I am overwhelmed with the subtle nuances already. Room temp vs refrigerated meat, integrity of the muscle, all the abbreviations and nicknames etc. I will post all pix, because it is all about learning to master the smoke. Also another newbie may feel better about his first underdone chicken. Take care.

Welcome to the forums!  You've found the best place I know for sharing ideas on smoking, grilling, curing, etc.  There are plenty of friendly, knowledgeable folks here who really enjoy helping one another.  Looking forward to your input here, and just ask when you need anything...someone here will surely have the answer.
