Been an avid follower for the last couple of weeks and finally took the plunge on Saturday. Smoked a pork shoulder, what an experience....wow it turned out brilliantly, (the fire only went out twice, but hey I'm still learning) going to try this weekend with some chicken. Looking forward to sharing on the forum.

Welcome Bruce! You must be in the middle of summer down there right now! Lucky!

It's been averaging a steamy -15 C' around here lately. Last night on the evening news a guy blew a bubble (using that soapy liquid kids play with) and it froze in mid-air! Wild! Oh well, welcome to SMF. Glad to have you and good luck with your future smoking challenges!

Hey guys its a balmy 34 deg Celsius here, we are having those huge thunderstorms at the moment which cools the evening down, so amazing to sit on the patio and watch the kids swimming with one eye and the other on the barbecue, we are blessed!
Got the family coming around tomorrow to check out my smoking skills, so doing two chickens....see how they go.
A good friend of mine makes his own boerewors , will try and convince him to give me a blow by blow with pics, let you know.

We have another member from SA goes by Ahron.. Welcome to the smokin family
