I just scored a new wsm for $199. I can't wait to try it. Unfortunatly in Central NY its about 10 degrees out. While I'm waiting for better weather is there any mods recommended?

No mods to make, it works great right out of the box. No need to wait either; the WSM runs just fine in the cold. It's the wind that ya have to watch for.

You got a very good price on that unit.

Congrats on the new smoker and I'm sure you will like it there are alot of folks here that have them here.

Confusion@%$& Does one of the smoking grates sit right on top of the water pan? The setup is different than my ecb...

No directions? Just kidding but it really is easy to assemble. The hardest part for me was the ash pan. I finally bent the tabs to keep the darn thing from falling off.

LOL, the same thing happened to me. I was so happy the carton arrived in perfect condition I figured I wouldn't have any problems. The damn ash pan just didn't want to lay right and I thought maybe the legs were off. I finally just bent the tabs also.

I hear ya, I don't understand why it's not part of the directions. Oh well nothing beats trial and error

You're really going to like that cooker. Super easy temp controls and pretty much a miser on fuel.

Spoofer,

Where did you get your Weber for 199.00? I live in Buffalo and just order one online for 239.00. That was the best price I could find. I am eager to try it out in the cold. i have a chargriller with sfb and it does nothing in the cold. I am going through bbq withdrawal.
