Hello everyone,

My name is David.  I live in Concord, CA.  I have been Bar B Queing since I was ten years old.  My dad, being from North Carolina, taught me everything he knows and is still teaching a thing or two.  But I can always learn more.  When I am not riding the rails, I try to barbque or smoke something.  I like fishing, hunting, and camping.  I also like cast iron cooking.  I have a lot of other interest also.  My wife and I like to barbque for friends and family every chance we can.  I joined this group to see what techniques other people are using and to try different things.  I am looking forward to spending some time reading and trying some of the recipes from this forum.

Thanks for adding me,

David Cooper

David, welcome to SMF!  NorCal has quite a few members here with a wide variety of equipment, mostly charcoal, electric, and propane.  Not many stick burners since cooking wood is so expensive.  Thanks for sharing the family history.  Lots of folks here with the same interests as you too.

Have fun!

Ray

Welcome to SMF from NC! :welcome:
We're glad to have you. The search bar at the top is your most valuable resource here. This forum has been around for over ten years, so there is a good chance that any questions you may have, have already been answered (they may have 10 different answers, but you'll get an instant response non the less).
Please be sure to post your smokes along with your process and recipes. We will be glad to help you along the way and we may also learn something new ourselves in the process. Also, don't forget the very important Q view! (We're mad for pics on here [emoji]128513[/emoji])
Always remember to have fun because it's not fun if you have to work at it.
Thanks for joining,
- Ryan
