Guys and Gals,

I'm new the forum. I live in Des Moines, Iowa and I've been smoking for approximately 5 years. I have gone through my fair share of different smokers. I've tried propane, charcoal and electric. I currently have two different electric smokers that I use most often. I think I'm most attracted to an electric smoker because of the temperature control.

I like things when they are easy!!

The smoker I use most often is a MES 30 with the amazn pellet smoker box. I just found out about this pellet smoker box last year and I have been loving it ever since. Plenty of people have told me you don't get smoke taste from pellets but I think they are absolutely crazy!!

When I finally graduate to a big boy smoker I hope to have one that I can use both charcoal and actual wood logs.

I think I'll be ready for this kind of smoker right around retirement... (I'm currently 31).

Other than smoking meat I enjoy brewing beer, drinking beer, and having fun.

Welcome to the group!  This is the best place I know for sharing ideas on smoking, grilling, curing, etc.  There are plenty of friendly, knowledgeable folks who really enjoy helping one another.  Looking forward to your input here, and just ask when you need anything...someone here will surely have the answer.
