  1. Hello everyone,

My name is Jerry, I live in Erie,Pa. I'm new to smoking (have never smoked before), I've always wanted to try and have spent most of this summer researching smokers trying to decide weather to go with charcoil, gas or electric? A club I belong to was raffling off a Smoke Hollow Pro 44 last week and my wife bought $5 worth of tickets--it is now in my garage--just put it together last night!

I'm going to have alot of questions--I do have a nephew that is very successful at smoking and all of his stuff is great so hoping he helps me out too. Looking forward to chatting with all of you!!
  2. Glad you joined the group. The search bar at the top of any page is your best friend.
About anything you wanna know about smoking/grilling/curing/brining/cutting or slicing
and the list goes on has probably been posted. Remember to post a QVIEW of your smokes.
We are all smoke junkies here and we have to get our fix. If you have questions
Post it and you will probably get 10 replies with 11 different answers. That is
because their are so many different ways to make great Q...
    Happy smoken.

Welcome, from southern Ohio, to the best forum on the internet if you are looking to learn how to BBQ/smoke/brine/cure/inject. Well you get the picture if you can do it to to something you put on a plate to eat then someone here has probably done it. Use the search bar at the top of the page and you will be led to the answer to most every question you can think of. If you don't find the answer there then just post it and someone will chime in with there opinion on the subject.
I had a Propane Smoke Hollow Pro 44 and after my learning curve I could just about dial in what ever temps I wanted and it would hold them well. The only trouble was with the trays that held the wood for smoke. I could not master a techneque that would just smolder the wood chips or chunks, they always flared into flames. I ended up doing a mailbox mod with the AMNPS smoker and after that it was smooth sailing!! I ended up donating the Smoke Hollow to my son and he still is using it. Here is a link to my thread on the mail box mod:
